Flood hit Bosnia and Herzegovina

Floods hit Europe again, this time communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Over the past few days, we had witnessed again the lack of action by the politicians and decision makers on climate change, this time impacting citizens of the cities of Konjic, Jablanica and other towns and cities all across the Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unfortunately, many people have died, even more have been injured, while communities and critical infrastructure has been severely damaged and/or flooded. It is clear that this will inevitably happen again, due to climate change inaction. We would like to use this opportunity to express our condolences to the families and close ones of those who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy, as well as to show our support and solidarity with the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and first responders

We call once again politicians and decision-makers to put a climate action, human lives and our future at the top of their agenda and to take a more concrete action as we see that this is a serious security matter impacting entire Europe  We need to adapt our flood and drought protection program to current challenges that we face, especially by increasing the retention capacity of the landscape as natural flood protection via afforestation of the upper reaches of rivers, leaving space for natural spillover of rivers.

馃挕 We would also like to invite you to donate to the impacted communities that are in desperate need of help during these hard times. You can find more information over https://pomoziba.org, and instructions for donations can be found here:
