In order to get to know better the structure of our organisation we will introduce you to some of the abbreviations that we use everyday in our communications when refering to the main bodies of CDN.

The Network Meeting shall meet in ordinary session, and be organised by the Executive Committee, at least once a year. The Network Meeting has full powers to take any necessary decision in order to realise the objectives of CDN. Network Meeting is made up of the member organisations and partner organisations of CDN.

Member organisation of CDN have a right to two delegates with voting right at the Network Meeting and have full right to nominate its candidate for any organisational group or submit amendments to any organisational document of CDN. Partner organisation of CDN have a right to send one delegate with no voting right to the Network Meeting and have full right to nominate its candidate for any organisational group or submit amendments to any organisational document of CDN. Gender balances should be assured.

Only the Network Meeting may:
- Approve the budgets and accounts
- Elect and dismiss the members of the Executive Committee
- Amend the Statutes
- Amend Political Platform
- Dissolve CDN
- Approve the Executive Committee's annual report

Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe is made up of organisations without commercial goals. The admission of new members and partners is subject to the following conditions:

In order to become a member or partner of CDN, an organisation has to send an official letter of application to the secretariat accompanied with organisation's statutes, information on legal status and number of members, age limit and type of activities. Other useful information can be sent as well.

A youth organisation based in one of the countries that is not member of the European Union can become member of CDN through the standard application procedure, after being voted in favour at Network Meeting with a two thirds majority. A youth organisation based in one of the countries that is member of the European Union can become partner organisation of CDN through the standard application procedure, after being voted in favour at Network Meeting with a two thirds majority.

Members and partners organisations of CDN accept both the Statutes and the Political Platform. Member organisation and partner organisation have the same right to participate at the events that CDN is organising.

The Executive Committee consists of five persons mandated by the Network Meeting. They have full decision making power concerning general management of the organisation and project activities. They do not have specific tasks to fulfil in between two meetings, but are obligated to follow the work of the organisation and the office and give guidelines for improvement and development.

In the Executive Committee of CDN at least ¾ of the members should come from member organisations, at least 1/3 should be of opposite gender (aiming at ½) and at least ¾ of members have to be younger then 30.

The Executive Committee is meeting at least twice a year between the Network Meetings, or at the request of at least 2/3 of the Executive Committee members.

At every meeting the Executive Committee is approving the reports of the work done in the previous period concerning the project and office coordination and are deciding on projects that CDN wants to support and on policy of daily management of the organisation. In order to achieve its goals CDN is relaying on one full time Office Coordinator and CDN Project coordinator.

Key part of our running budget comes through a project that we realise every year in cooperation with Green Forum, Sweden. Green Forum is a development fund of The Green Party of Sweden supported by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and aims to support different projects related with cooperation, understanding, green politics, democracy and human rights. Green Forum has been there for CDN from the right beginning supporting our work and wish to work together in Eastern Europe.

Working group is sort of a steering committee that takes care of running the project. The coordinator of the project remains responsible for overall work and finances but through this group the actual project improvement policy is being filtrated.

This group had a role before the Executive Committee of CDN has been decided (in 2003 mainly) and since then the executive committee took the role of the project development working group.
