Call for Refocus Summer Camp Prep Team

The application for Prep Team members for the Refocus Summer Camp is open!

Our Refocus Summer Camp will take place from 5 – 10th of August 2024* in Georgia.

This will be an international activity which aims to empower participants as well as equip them with knowledge, skills, and tools so they can take active, focused, and strategic political actions, and by doing so contribute to active youth political participation in Eastern Europe. 

Through this event, together we will:

  1. Provide space for participants for refocusing their political visions and contextual positions, and share them with each other

  2. Equip participants with knowledge, skills, and tools for analysis and understanding of their contextual positions and spheres of influence

  3. Equip participants with knowledge, skills, and tools for creation of action plans, strategies, and negotiation processes

  4. Empower participants to apply knowledge and skills gained to their organisations, produce action plans and strategies, and transform them into concrete action in their local and regional contexts

If you are a young person aged 16-35 from any of the eligible countries**,  and you are interested in the topic of the event, we invite you to apply to be a member of this preparatory team. 

Prep Team members should:

  • have a working level knowledge of English

  • be familiar with non-formal education methods

  • have some experience with international events, either as participants or organisers

  • have knowledge of CSOs and youth movements structures and functioning

  • be active in their local communities

  • be available during the preparation and realisation period (May-August),

  • be responsible about fulfilling their tasks

  • have good organisational skills

  • be a team player

  • be committed to the aims of the project and CDN’s values

     

We especially encourage young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and communities to apply to be a part of our Prep Team.

 

Main responsibilities of the prep-team include:

  1. Participation in a two-day live prep team meeting in Serbia on 17th and 18th of May (2 full working days), with arrival day as 16th and departure day as 19th of May

  2. Active participation in the regular (weekly or bi-weekly) online meetings prior to the event (May-August / 2-3 h a week)

  3. Preparation and facilitation of the program of the event; designing and preparing sessions based on non-formal education methodology, invitation and communication with speakers, experts and partners in accordance with the project aims (4-6 h  a week)

  4. Dissemination of the call and selection of participants, preparation of participants for the event and providing them with all the necessary information regarding the program

  5. Helping with the promotion of the event and ensuring media visibility

  6. Taking care of practicalities and of the general well-being of the participants during the event

  7. Full participation during the entire event and Prep Team meeting before and after

  8. Helping with the reporting of the event

Being a Prep Team member at this event will offer you:

  4. Getting to know activists from different European contexts and their work

  5. A possibility to develop your leadership and group work skills

Practicalities: 

Accommodation, food, working space, travel, and visa costs for the preparatory team will be fully covered.

For selection of travel means for both Prep Team meeting and the activity, the condition is to combine the most economic and environmentally friendly way (lowest price + travel time + CO2 emissions).

More information about travel regulations will be shared upon acceptance.

DEADLINE for submitting online applications is 7th of April, 23:59 CET. You will be informed about the results by email approximately 2 weeks after the deadline.
